Development and Validation of the Digital Addiction Scale for Teenagers (DAST)

We present the development and validation of Digital Addiction Scale for Teenagers (DAST), describing pilot study ( N = 40 students) main 4493) with Estonian students aged 11–19, in spring 2020. Our aim was to create a scale suitable psychoeducational assessment teenagers’ behaviour feelings towards digital devices. used mixed research framework . Half sample collected before coronavirus crisis (Sample I: 1972 rest during distance-learning period II: 2521 students). found that factor structure both subsamples were similar. The DAST shows negative relationship emotional school engagement life satisfaction positive correlations burnout, learning difficulties screen time. discuss potential uses assessing health-related competences.
